There hasn't been a news post about Vertex2 in a while, here is for those who are interested how our ETF2L Season 7 went.
We had high hopes from the start that the season would go better than Season 6 was, so we started out with
Plasters
Gubbins
Si^
Side Effect
Jaroi Davidd. however
Jaroi had already told us that he was going to leave Comp. TF2 for the time being; after winning our first 2 officials in ETF2L told us he didnt want to play anymore officials meaning that after the first couple of officials we were on the lookout for someone who could match Jaroi's game
However this proved tough as we were on a tight ETF2L schedule and when we didn't have luck finding someone, we decided to switch around classes to see if it could work out, then changing our minds when it didn't, meaning that we litterally had a recruitment post up on ETF2L every week.
We then had our first map loss on ETF2L, against Herbs Army on Turbine, when we had 5 players for 2 thirds of the game, and a merc.
We carried on looking for mercs, and rushed into too many recruitments of players who had a good trial but were not what we were really looking for - we needed to win our officials to keep up with the biggest rivals of our division - Aqeze, who had before our official a +16 Streak on the division and were looking to make it a +18 on us, as they were hot favourites to get the top spot.
2 days before our official we trialed a few demomen and came across Haroun who impressed us very much, as he could fit in with our playstyle briliantly, despite not having the experience other trials had.
When it came to the Aqeze game, we were all warmed up and ready,
Plasters kindly agreed to merc for us; it was a tense start but we managed to beat them against the odds, so we are officially Division 3!
Si^ played well, his survival skills baffled Aqeze and they were asking for his demos to help their medic improve.
But it's not over yet, we still need to beat Twisted on both maps to win our division by 1 point who although haven't done as well as Aqeze in division 4D, playing them on such a "luck based" map like Gravelpit, the result could go either way.
Soooo, that's how our season has gone, now the season has almost ended we can all settle down, give people some proper trials and prepare for Div 3 with a hopefully solid core 6!
